Despite the current lockdown in the UK, my service continues to be busy with loads of students electing to continue their lessons via video link rather than in person at my house. I’m really pleased that I can continue to offer a full instrumental music lesson experience to those who want to keep playing, enjoying and progressing. Admittedly, there are a few minor differences between teaching in person and teaching over Skype / Zoom, but those differences don’t seem to effect the quality of the lessons that take place. On the contrary, people se, em happy that they are still managing to participate in a full and undiminished lesson while sitting in the comfort of their own homes, and playing their own instruments.
So, successful have my online sessions been (even more so that I had anticipated before switching to video link) that I’m now planning to roll this out beyond Skipton and offer lessons to people across the UK and beyond. With this in mind, please spread the word to your wider contacts: ex-pats who might want lessons from someone with English as a first language, friends who are dotted around the country, especially in rural communities where access to lessons is more challenging even when there isn’t a continent-wide lockdown, and anyone else who would enjoy piano, guitar, uke or bass lessons from the comfort of their living rooms or studies. The geographic location really doesn’t matter: the technology works in exactly the same way whether we’re a street away or on the other side of the world to one another.
