This evening will be the opening night of a brand new, mixed voice choir in Glusburn
If you enjoy singing then come along this evening to Glusburn Institute Community and Arts Centre for the very first meeting of the ‘Sing Out South Craven’ choir! Absolutely everyone is welcome, whether you’ve been involved in musical performance your whole life or if you’ve never sung before but would like to give it a try.
Joining a choir is a joyous thing to do – we get to come together as a mini community, making music with the extraordinary power of our voices. S.O.S.C. is a fully inclusive group, so there’ll be no auditions or voice checks – men and women of all ages, backgrounds and ability levels are 100% welcome, irrespective of prior experience, And, there’s no need to be able to ‘read’ music – everything will be taught by ear as well as provided in the form of lyrics and sheet music.
As Musical Director of Sing Out South Craven, I aim to make rehearsals informal and fun, and include a wide variety of music. This evening I plan for us to sing a medley of gospel songs, a Welsh folk song, some music from musical theatre and much more!
Our meetings will be each Wednesday evening from 7:30pm until 9 at Glusburn Community & Arts Centre, starting tonight. So, if you’re free, come along and join us – we’d love to see you there!
