Wanted: Musicians to Join Skipton Folk / Sea Shanty Band

The Jack Tars – Come & Join The Crew!

We are looking for musicians for our well-established Sea Shanty/ Folk Band based in Skipton. We play traditional and contemporary arrangements of Sea Shanties/Songs from the Golden Age of Sail along with Irish Folk songs. Our music is quite high energy as we want to revive and put our mark on folk music. We are looking for positive enthusiastic musicians to join the crew either on a permanent or temporary/flexible basis depending on your availability.

If you play an Accordion, Fiddle, Flute/Whistle or Bodhran we would be interested to hear from you. If you can sing harmonies also that is preferred. We are currently short of a Bass singer. Gigs are often 1-3 times a month depending on availability/time of year and vary from folk festivals to pub gigs. Rehearsals are flexible and can be worked around your availability but when not gigging, every fortnight ideally usually at my home in Bradley but the option of a pub in Skipton or another band members house is also possible. Our debut EP will be out soon, but we have a small selection of Live songs on YouTube/Spotify that you can see.
